Boardwalk was asked to integrate Universal’s Woody Woodpecker with the existing Honda Racing logo to create a new brand identity for the Honda Racing licensed merchandising program.
We established the rules for logo use and created graphics for both kids’ and adult’s merchandise, giving equal importance to Honda's sleek street racing and gritty off-road teams.
We created a library of source art, taking care that only qualified sponsor logos appeared on riders and bikes.
We created a complete branding system for mass market merchandising including all logos, patch art, repeating patterns, borders, font families, color palette, product applications, packaging and retail display concepts. Following that, we created a companion system for a parallel specialty program.
We kept both Honda and Universal informed and engaged as the program developed and helped them resolve issues whenever the goals of one partner diverged from those of the other.
